Shopify Apps Detector

Enter any store's URL to see which apps it runs and which theme it's built on. Free, no sign-up.

How the detector works

Shopify apps have to load something into a store's pages to show shoppers anything: a review widget, a pop-up, a tracking pixel. We load the store's homepage once and look for three kinds of evidence:

  • Scripts loaded from an app's own servers, like static.klaviyo.com for Klaviyo or cdn.rebuyengine.com for Rebuy.
  • Theme app extensions, which Shopify serves from cdn.shopify.com/extensions/…/app-name-version/. The folder name usually identifies the app.
  • App pixels that apps register with Shopify for analytics. Each has a numeric app ID; we name the ones verified across many stores.

How to check a store's apps by hand

  1. Open the store and view the page source (Ctrl+U or Cmd+Option+U).
  2. Search for cdn.shopify.com/extensions to list theme app extensions.
  3. Search for script domains you recognize: klaviyo, judge.me, okendo, rebuyengine, attn.tv…
  4. Search for Shopify.theme to find the theme name and version.

The detector does the same in a few seconds and maps domains to app names for you.

What the result can't tell you

Apps that run only in checkout, on the thank-you page, or in the admin leave no trace on the storefront. That includes most post-purchase upsell and survey apps, and back-office tools like inventory or accounting apps. A missing app in the result means it isn't visible, not that the store doesn't use it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find out what apps a Shopify store is using?
Enter the store's URL above. We load its homepage and look for three kinds of evidence: scripts loaded from an app's servers, theme app extensions served from cdn.shopify.com/extensions, and app pixels registered with Shopify. Each detected app shows which evidence we found.
Can it see every app a store has installed?
No detector can. Apps that only work in the Shopify admin, in checkout or on the thank-you page (most post-purchase upsell and survey apps, for example) leave no trace on the storefront. Headless stores built on Hydrogen or another framework also hide most apps. Treat the result as what's visible to shoppers, not a full install list.
How do I find out what theme a Shopify store uses?
The detector reads the theme Shopify declares in the page. The theme name is the one in the theme's code, such as Dawn or Prestige; heavily customized stores often show their own name. You can also view the page source and search for Shopify.theme.
Why does it say the store isn't on Shopify?
Either the site runs on another platform, or it's a headless Shopify store that doesn't expose Shopify's markers, or bot protection served us a different page. If you're sure it's Shopify, try the store's main domain without a path.
What does 'unidentified app pixels' mean?
Shopify lists each app's tracking pixel by a numeric ID. We name the ones we've verified across many stores and count the rest, rather than guessing.
Is it free?
Yes. No account needed. Results for a store are cached for 24 hours.
