What the audit checks
We load the store's homepage, one product page, its policy pages, robots.txt and sitemap, the same way a shopper or Google would, then run about 30 checks:
- SEO basics: homepage title and meta description, a single H1, canonical URL, social sharing image, brand structured data, page language, sitemap and robots.txt.
- Product page: Product and Offer structured data, reviews and star ratings, trust badges near the buy button, image alt text and meta description.
- Trust and policies: refund, shipping, privacy and terms pages, and an easy way to contact you.
- Speed: server response time, HTML weight, the number of third-party script domains and render-blocking scripts, and lazy-loaded images.
- Growth stack: whether the store captures emails or SMS and offers upsells, based on the apps we can detect.
Shopify store audit checklist
Want to check by hand? These are the items worth ten minutes of your time:
- Your homepage title says what you sell, in 30–65 characters.
- Each product has a search listing description, and every image has alt text.
- Product pages show reviews, and the ratings appear in Google as stars.
- Refund, shipping, privacy and terms policies are published in Settings › Policies.
- Trust badges for secure checkout, shipping and returns sit next to Add to cart.
- You've uninstalled apps you don't use, and checked their code was removed from the theme.
- Your sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console.
- You capture emails from visitors who don't buy on their first visit.
What a quick audit can't see
Anything behind checkout: thank-you page offers, post-purchase surveys, checkout customizations. Real-browser speed metrics (Core Web Vitals) also need a tool like PageSpeed Insights. And we check one product page, not your whole catalog.
